The Recap - September 2024
All the things I’ve been indulging in, learning, lusting after and grateful for this month.
The Recap! …
…My top ten each month. Everything I’ve been wearing, listening to, been motivated by, what has given me comfort. The things I’ve been indulging in, learning, lusting after and grateful for. This month I chat about the fear of Secondhand September, Scorpio Pinterest vibes, afternoon naps, cowboy boots and the heartsqueeze.
…and so, without further ado:
1- Wearing - Autumn Stalf- plenty of rich browns, hints of pale blue (ahem, cross stitch) and deep aubergine with a side of painter’s blue twill (yes, dungas!!) and misty fleece (the perfect topper for just about any outfit.)
Just an FYI, Chocolate Cross Stitch is almost all sold out!

For some extra outfit inspo… my current top four and how I’ll be getting even more wear out of them.
2- Soundtrack - Massive Attack (ft. Liz Frazer) - Silent Spring…
I rediscovered this song recently and love to sink into it’s smooth, velvety mood (perhaps with a glass of wine in hand.) I am a sucker for almost anything Liz Fraser touches, so this one’s a given.
3- Motivator - Right now, Pinterest is Pinteresting, as they say.
I go through waves with this app, but right now, we’re planning my eldest’s Halloween birthday outfit (and that boy is a Scorpio through and through) so my pinterest feed (and the inside of my head, incidentally) currently looks like this:
I’m into it.
A big part of living life as a creative (yep that sounds wanky, I know, but I’m rolling with it) is actively carving out time to be inspired.
This is not always easy when the stresses of life get in the way. Chasing targets and herding children and paying bills and such like, tend to try to take the romance out of the everyday. Right now, thanks to Jude’s whimsical and wholehearted approach to his birthday celebrations, my pinterest feed is making daydreaming my way through an evening a little easier.
4- Comfort - October. Autumn. The stretch through to Christmas.
September I kind of feel sad about the lack of sunshine. October I give zero f*cks about what the weather could be doing and embrace the gloom. Fire is lit, book is open, candles are burning, blanket is on, hot water bottle is filled. Call me basic, I’ll take it.
5- View - My Mum owns an architectural practice with my fiancé. They’ve worked together for the best part of a decade now (I know, I’m not sure which one is more of a saint!)
My point is, they’ve been on a slow and winding journey in their working relationship, which culminated in a moment this afternoon that has really stuck in my head.
