The Stalf Sale Pieces That'll Take me Through Autumn.

I’m aware that in many ways here in the UK, it feels like Summer has only just begun… and yet the calendar steadily turns towards September.

Perhaps my favourite month of the year.

The pressure is off with regards to the weather, school is back in session and with it, routine is restored (this is a big YES for me) and slowly, the chill begins to creep back into the air. I’m a longtime lover of the free-flow of the Summer months- the days of 18-22 degrees where literally ANYTHING goes and you can pull whatever the hell you like out of your wardrobe in the morning. But it can’t be denied that somewhere around August 25th, I inevitably start to crave a new way of thinking about getting dressed.

Much like the freedom of the school holidays, the sartorial free-flow of July/August starts to grate. I begin to yearn for a handful of limitations- a rainy day that calls for boots, a bite to the wind which dictates layers- September brings with it a specification-of-sorts which I didn’t even realised I’d missed!

More on this in next month’s style notes… for now, I’m perusing the sale - to be specific, I’m reflecting on the summer styles I’d choose (whilst they’re still around and, ahem, discounted) to see me through the beginnings of Autumn.

You know how I love a moodboard:

Takeaways:

  • Tees under dresses

  • Trainers with everything - bye bye toes! :(

  • Shackets in lieu of coats

  • Shirts with Dungas

  • Bring the suede clogs out of hibernation

Here’s what I chose and how it’ll see me through ‘til Halloween.
