The Recap - April 2025
All the things I’ve been indulging in, learning, lusting after and grateful for this month.
The Recap! …
…My top ten each month. Everything I’ve been wearing, listening to, been motivated by, what has given me comfort. The things I’ve been indulging in, learning, lusting after and grateful for. This month I chat gardening, finding the vitality amongst the struggle, behind the scenes on wedding day, camping, moon bathing and nature’s symbiosis.
1- Wearing - It’s been a whirlwind month… here’re my fave outfits…
1- Easter in the UK was sunny this year… except for the corner of Wales we chose to head to! Al-fresco wine with a side of mittens, double-coat and hat please!
2- Pulling out old faves- last Summer’s Sundowner Check Cocoons are my current fave with a linen shirt.
3- When we’re asked to go 80’s, we REALLY go 80’s!!
4- Something great (think 5m of double layered, organic cotton voile, in three shades and adorned with Stalf crinkley goodness!) is coming.
5- Just my happiest outfit of the last month. Still my fave dress. Paired with my wedding bouquet.
6- Stalf sweats and doggo snuggles. 10/10.
7- A moment amongst the pre-school-run chaos.
8- Must book a meal out to pair with this outfit. Features the Tulip Trousers.
9- Wedding make-up candid (more bts from my camera roll below.)
10- Morning of the wedding, wander round the paddock to calm my nerves.
And a bonus 11- IT’S WHITE LINEN TROUSERS SEASON!!…
2- Soundtrack - Wedding Soundtrack. Ok, so this was for our low-key legal ceremony, only 4 tracks were required (you bet when we have the party in the paddock later in the year, I’ll be pulling together playlists aplenty and sharing them here!)
To get ready, I had a playlist on that my dad made me for when I went into labour, it’s aptly titled “Paris’ chill out baby coming anytime mix” … and it served a similar purpose on the wedding day.
Playing whilst the guests were waiting for us, we had Brian Eno 1/1 from Music for Airports.
We walked in to Jimi Hendrix, Little Wing (one that always reminds me of when we first got together.)
To sign the register, we had Harvest Moon by Neil Young.
We walked out to Sunshine on Leith, The Proclaimers. Always brings me to tears, always reminds me of my boy.
3- Motivator - getting back in the tent box… booked Île de Ré for the not too distant future (get more of that in next month’s edition!)
Jam packed! We always take bedding rather than sleeping bags- just my preference and makes the camping feel more homely and substantial IMO. I swear, Sam can cook ANYTHING on that Weber camping BBQ. He’s done us everything from curry to pizza!
Easter egg hunt with the most stunning backdrop! This is our friends’ back garden.
Snowden on the far left.
Wood-fired hot tubs for the win!
4- Comfort -
Summer/warm weather comfort food for me will forever be strawberries.
Accompanied by full fat Greek Yoghurt and honey is a winner, but you can’t beat using a strawb as a vessel to scoop up a splodge of extra thick double cream in my eyes.
Vali’s preference is to dip in sugar. Either way, we’re working our way through punnets like nobody’s business just now.
