The Love List - August 2023.

Everything I've been appreciating recently.

(NOTE- this one’s coming a little earlier in the month than usual since I’ll be on holiday for the latter part of August.)

My top ten for this month…

1- Wearing - This month, I don’t seem to be able to stop wearing my Stalf Midi Skirts. I have the Midi Skirt in Wisteria and Rosa (although I just acquired the new Freshwater Check version, see final image below.)

Maybe its the weird non-Summer we’re having here in the UK. The Midi Skirt spans the void between how I imagine August will be and the actuality of it and covers all bases weather-wise.

2- Soundtrack - Dance the Night - Dua Lipa. Ever since my pink-bedecked 5 year old son and I watched Barbie on the big screen clad in sparkles and sass and clapping to this particular beat, we’ve been hooked.

Barbie does coordinated and choreographed clapping and makes me want to immediately morph into Dua Lipa and do coordinated and choreographed clapping (my younger sisters tell me I’m very late to this party.)

3- Motivator - September looming is always a motivator. All of a sudden we’re only one month away from a whole new season and all things September-y… lists and organisation and Autumn wardrobes and crisp white shirts and shiny school shoes and a new beginning of sorts- sooo not matching up with my lazy, hazy August vibe! Makes me want to squeeze the juice out of Summer for the last few sleeps.

4- Comfort - As you will see when I write up my upcoming Travel Notes, we’re roadtripping up and down France later this month. Sleeping in our Tentbox on the roof of the car, I anticipate that the memory foam pillows and my oh-so-pretty Secret Linen Store bedding will be my close-your-eyes-and-pretend-you’re-in-a-real-bed comfort.

5- View - This is the view from my soon-to-be kitchen window and I’ve yet to see anything sweeter. A window would be great, a kitchen ideal, but this absolutely fills me with delight for now.
