Style Notes for March

Squeezing inspiration out of the shows...

If last month was about staving off the Feb funk, March is about the beginning of the transition, the first shoots of fresh inspiration breaking through the surface. The first rays of sunshine peeking out from behind the clouds.

I read so many articles here on substack last month focused on dressing your way through the trudge of Feb. It was a comfort of sorts, to read that others (many of whom I draw inspiration from ) are feeling the same feelings.

The Feb funk descends on us all.

We’re all fed up of our wardrobe. We’re all fed up of the cold. We’re all fed up of having to think of practicality constantly when pulling our outfit components together. I’m ready for light layers of JOY! I’m ready for the blue skies and no-coat days.

… and so. I’ve been browsing the shows for inspo- I know we’re looking at FW 24/5 here (when in real life we’re looking towards spring/summer), but if I’m browsing with a view for styling inspo, there’s a wealth of freshness to uncover that’s relevant to this transitional period, and crucially, that will get me fired up and enthusiastic for a new season. I’m keen to dig into the newness and unleash a new lease of life for March.

I found a trove of styling inspo across the shows which I’ll distill into multiple inspo articles this month (cannot wait to get shooting and sharing with you all- my head is brimful of ideas!)

BUT… one show stood out for me waaay above the others. My son and I were poring over the images for a good 40 mins at tea time earlier this week.
