How is Betwixtmas for you? Do you sink into the nothingness of those few days and relax into the luxury of quiet calm after Christmas Day, or do you revel in the extra time for chaotic family gatherings and boozy buffets? Perhaps it’s the perfect opportunity to squeeze in a city break or mini adventure?
Whichever way you choose to embrace the last week of the year, I have a few Stalf-shaped ideas to see you through. This one’s a little quick-fire as we are deep in the middle of manufacturing your Christmas orders here at the studio.
Betwixtmas, four ways, if you like.
First up- Cosying up and shutting out the world.
This is my personal favourite option come the 27th December. Post-festivities Paris longs for hours in comfy sweats in front of a fire, reading a 700 page book. For these types of activities, I look no further than my Stalf sweats. Any colour combo will do, but I adore Spearmint and Frosty Lilac any which way. Add in a thermal, your fave slippers and a marshmallow-laden hot choc, and you’re good to go- it’s the stuff (my) dreams are made of.
Here I’m wearing the Sweatshirt in Frosty Lilac and Sweatpants in Spearmint. Slippers are by Yoko Wool.
Second come the Family Festivities.
Whether you enjoy the busy family gatherings or dread them, having something comfy and “appropriate” with a hint of festive is what you’ll likely be aiming for. I present to you, the Gathered Flutter Dress. The most cosy (yet light) maxi dress with festive sleeves and a full skirt, designed for special occasions and the everyday-alike. Pair with a twinkly pair of tights and comfy shoes (I love a loafer or ballet flat with this style, for these types of occasions) and perhaps top with a red lip?
City Break? Weekend Away?
You’ll want to travel light, feel comfy yet stylish and have a couple of garments up your sleeve that mix and match for various activities, effortlessly. Here’s what I’d pack and why…
Jazzy Trouser- Battenberg is perfect here, but any of our checked offerings would work. I love to pack a trouser which makes a statement. This is my fave shape for comfort, it pairs well with classic basics (without being boring) and the soft, chalky pink shade pairs well with a multitude of colour/texture/print options- stripes/florals/contrasting checks work just as well as classic staples like a white linen shirt or cashmere jumper.
Stalf Sweatshirt- For a super cosy layer in a splash of colour that looks and feels effortless but never scruffy. I size up a couple of sizes for an extra oversized look, but this style is cut with that in mind so you could just as easily go for your normal size without too much of a neat fit. I went Frosty Lilac in the below image, but Spearmint is just as good if you prefer blue/green tones.
Flutter Blouse- You know how much of a chameleon this piece is. It plays so well with almost anything in my wardrobe, and works for day to evening, layered or solo. I love adding in this piece for a flash of colour and texture at the cuffs. White linen version here or you could go Dusty (like I’m wearing below). Rosewood is a great similar option if you love the pink, but prefer a warmer tone, or classic black linen, available here.
Jumbo Cords- My recent true love. Practical, warm, easy, smart yet also relaxed. Again, throw almost any texture and colour at these babies and they hold their own. Get them in Tea Rose here and Thunder here.
Hope this has been helpful! Brief this week, I know!
I’m hoping to write up a couple more articles over Christmas reflecting on the year passed before we launch into the next!
In the meantime, browse all of our Ready Made stock here and filter by size here.
Enjoy!
